CAP-tivating: “Jungle”

Forth Art Gallery proudly presents, ‘Captivating: Jungle”, an exhibition featuring JUNGLE caps designed by 30 students from Evergreen Primary School and Slothstudio. These caps are no ordinary caps! They are designer caps conceptualized and hand crafted specifically to support the growth and inculcation of the Arts in the future generation.
Art is a significant educational tool which promotes the development and growth of young children; activities such as painting, drawing and others have been shown and proven to enrich a child’s mental, motor and other developments, induced by creativity and social interaction. Learning by doing!
The exhibition aims to create and foster positive opportunities to embed creativity in young children’s, their education and their growth as creative individuals through the relating workshop, a commercial venue and other creative communities such as Slothstudio and Forth Art Gallery. Connecting the children, their art and the various community, is our hope!
This project, workshop exhibition seeks a precedence which is seen and hoped to be a platform for the children to showcase their creative artworks and be addresses as artists themselves, with their works on display and be appreciated by the public.
The exhibition opens on Wednesday, 25th June and closes on Sunday, 29th June with a reception for public on Saturday 28th June. The gallery is opened from 11:30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
This exhibition is organised by the 3rd Year Diploma in Technology and Arts Management Students of Republic Polytechnic. Forth Art Gallery
FORTH exhibits new works of exceptional quality by emerging and practicing artists. Their focus is on art that surprises, engages and challenges the viewer.
Forth Art Gallery aims to be always forward looking, supporting unique artistic talents and efforts within our global community. Forth exhibit both image based and abstract work in all media with particular attention to painting, works on paper and installation. Situated in the heart of Chinatown, Forth is well-placed in a vibrant community, immersed in the bustling energy and pulsating richness of cultural heritage. Their program consists of about 20 shows per year with the majority being solo exhibits and the remainder group shows curated on a thematic basis. As working painters Forth have a passionate and intimate relationship to art. This personal understanding of the practice and motivation of art-making remains a strong basis for new inspirations.

Evergreen Primary School Art Club
The Art Club aims to develop the creativity and ability of students to appreciate art. Art activities held in school include acrylic painting and clay sculpture. External instructors have been specially engaged to teach the pupils specific skills. Pupils have a chance to visit the Art Museum and take part in national and international art competition. In addition, pupils’ works have been displayed on the club notice board.

SlothStudio
Slothstudio is an illustration based site that aims to experiment with different forms of art visuals, ranging from traditional mediums and crafts, to digital graphical designs and illustrations. On the side, Slothstudio also works on exclusive merchandise such as hand-drawn cap designs, and silk-screen t-shirts.
